About
Oregon Wellness Network and Deschutes are proud to announce a leader cross-training in the SMRC model of chronic pain self-management patient education. This training will prepare individuals to facilitate evidence-based classes in chronic pain self-management.
Chronic Pain Self-Management cross-training is available to individuals who have completed the 2020 Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) Leader Training or update. Bilingual speakers (English and Spanish) may take this training in English and teach the class in Spanish. If this describes your situation, let the Master trainers know so that they can have the manuals available in English and in Spanish.
The registration deadline is November 24, 2024. Space is limited.
Once we receive your application we will send you a zoom link with instructions the week before class starts.
Requirements
Participants and their organizations must agree to support offering at least one Chronic Pain Self-Management class within the 6 months following the training. In addition, participants must:
- Have completed the CDSMP 2020 Update to take this cross-training. If you are not currently a leader, you will be required to take the basic 4-day training in Chronic Disease Self-Management (CDSMP 2020) before being cross-trained in chronic pain.
- Attend all sessions (or make-up sessions) to graduate
- Have access to stable, high speed internet with a camera and microphone (cameras must be turned on during sessions)
- Use a computer or laptop (no mobile devices or telephone participation)
- Have good sound quality
- Be proficient in how to use your equipment
Additional Info
- Class offerings include the most current manuals and textbooks.
- There may be homework assignments required before and during the training.
